Dear Education Leaders,
This year, Edmonton Public School, Edmonton Catholic Schools, and the University of Alberta Faculty of Research and Outreach will facilitate the TEDxYouth@Edmonton conference. The purpose behind the event is to bring together 100 of Edmonton’s youth who share a passion to foster positive change in their community and beyond. TEDxYouth@Edmonton 2016 will showcase the many meaningful contributions youth are making to change our world for the better!
Big Questions, the 2016 edition of TEDxYouth@Edmonton will take place at the Royal Alberta Museum on April 9, 2016.
Speakers for this event will be coming from all across North America and even right here in Edmonton. Their ideas may have won them international recognition at the Google Science Fair or put their lives at risk for the right for Girl’s to have an education in developing countries. Wherever they are from, whatever their ideas, they will help to inspire the youth of Edmonton to find ideas within themselves to help make Edmonton, and the world, a better place.
There are two manners in which your students can participate:
- As an Attendee: Each school will be invited to select up to 5 students to attend theTEDx event. These students must attend the entire event and have a keen desire to participate in the dialogue. There is a cost of $25 per student.*
- As a Speaker: There will be an opportunity for 10 youth from Edmonton to join the event as speakers. Please see the attached application form or visit us online at www.tedxyouthedmonton.com.
