Hannahbw_crop17 Goals, 1 Approach: How We Can Contribute Towards the SDGs

Hannah Shimoga is a senior at Old Scona Academic. She has a passion for public speaking, debate, dance, and piano. From the age of six she has been learning dance and this passion is what led her to become the founder/president of her school’s AnyBody Can Dance (ABCD) club. Hannah has also participated in numerous speech and debate competitions throughout her high school career, successfully competing at the local, provincial, and international level. In 2016, she went to the United Nations and had the opportunity to learn in detail about sustainable development and how it impacts our world. During this trip, she competed in an international speech competition on the topic of sustainable development, where she placed second among 188 competitors from all over the world. Hannah’s talk will be about how individuals can get involved and contribute towards achieving the critical change needed in today’s world: the Sustainable Development Goals.
